Visual Research Summary / Ukraine

In this section of the book I explain to the foreigners what the traditional coulours of Ukrainian embroidery stand for.
In this section I talk about our post-Soviet past. "Lenin Rain" is a phenomenon that was happening in Ukrainian cities in 2013 when people were showing their discontent with the regime and started demolishing monuments to Lenin, the symbol of soviet heritage.
In this section I show Ukrainian faces. Be it the singer, the daughter of the fallen soldier or someone else - it is always a strong emotion on their eyes.
This curve of the letter "я" reminds of the endless furtile Ukrainian fields of wheat.
This curve reminds of the wave of the Black Sea.
The curves of the letter "б" are inspired by Carpathians.
The first draft of Ukrainian typeface. The grid is based on the proportion of the Coat of Arms of Ukraine. Strokes - inspired by Cossack typeface "Skoropys".
The book is called "The [crossed out] Ukraine". Many foreigners, including my professors, still use "the" because they still have an old image of Ukraine in their heads. In this book I am aiming to give them the new image after what they will use the name of my country properly.
On the other side of the page there is Obama's citing about Ukrainian people. In this section of the book I am talking about Ukraine's stand in the world. I wish pages of this book will make it possible for the foreigners "to see through Ukrainians' eyes".
